TADWORTH TEN 2009
The Tadworth Ten 2009 was held on Sunday 4th January at 10.30am, on a cold and frosty morning. The race was won by Hussain Ahmed of Hercules Wimbledon in 55:43. The Ladies winner was Vicky Foad of Sutton Runners in 1:07:41.
A Message from the Race Director
I would like to congratulate all 632 finishers for turning out and completing the 27th Tadworth 10 on such a bitterly cold day. Your attendance has helped raise many hundreds of pounds for local charities. As it has turned out it was extremely fortunate the race wasn’t held 24 hours later as I would have had to postpone it because of icy road conditions covering most of the course.
Well done to all the prize winners for their excellent performances although the course records remain intact.
I’d like to thank our sponsors, POWERBAR, RUN TO LIVE, and RUN FRANCE for their contributions, St John Ambulance for their help, Epsom Downs Racecourse for allowing us to use their facilities and the Epsom Downs Conservators for their help and assistance. Special thanks, of course, to all the helpers and marshals who endured the conditions and maintained their humour and encouragement for the runners which is so much appreciated.
I would finally extend a welcome back to you all to the next race in January 2010.
